The Butterfly Effect - Worlds on Fire
This song was playing while I was getting tattooed yesterday. At first I thought it sounded a bit like Muse but later learnt it was The Butterfly Effect from Australia. It’s quite beautiful isn’t it? It’s nice that songs can tie you to memories like this.

Every time I listen to this song it’s like I’ve been sonically beaten and violated. Haha… That’s Dir en grey for you..
I worked this out by ear and alternated between 薫 and Die’s parts. I’m quite sure they play this song on 7-string guitars but I used a 6-string in Drop-A tuning instead [A E A D F# B] I recorded my amp direct out into Logic Pro 8.
Anyway I’m waiting on my copy of DUM SPIRO SPERO to arrive sometime this week - I ordered the deluxe edition. I let myself listen to the leaks provided I finally order it, but I’m still excited. I actually didn’t want to sleep for a few nights so I could absorb its flavour more.. It’s pretty potent. Definitely expect a few covers from this album.
